The Financial Times has a series of interviews called “Lunch with the FT”. Over 800 people have been wined and dined and in retrospective today the FT lists the top-10 most expensive lunches.
David Millar finishes third, only behind writer Gore Vidal and former Japanese PM Yasuhiro Nakasone, helped by prodigous wine consumption just a few days ahead of last summer’s Tour de France.
On the expense list Millar managed to rack up more than Nobel Peace Prize winners, Russian oligarchs, France’s richest man and the chairman of Goldman Sachs.
